Shelf Life & Storage Instructions
Surface Preparation:
New plaster surface should be allowed to mature for a period of at least 6 months. Remove loose plaster and dust particles and rub lightly with sand paper. Previous coatings limewash, colour wash and powder distemper must be scrapped off.
Earlier coatings of oil or emulsion-based paints should be thoroughly sanded. However, the sheen on such surfaces must be removed by thorough sanding. Cracked and flaking paint must be scrapped of completely and the surface should be clean and dry before application of paint.
Ensure that surface to be painted is free from dirt, grease, oil, moisture and grime.
Application:
Prime surface with ARYANN PAINTS ABC water based acrylic primer and dry overnight. For best results, fill up dents with 2 or more coats of acrylic putty applied in thin layers. Avoid use of plaster of paris & its admixtures for filling dents & cracks. Use acrylic wall putty to rectify and smoothen out the surface and allow drying for 4-6 hours. Sand the surface with wet Emery Paper 180 to smoothen the putty surface.
Apply another coat of primer on the puttied surface. Allow drying for 4-6 hours. Sand the surface with Emery Paper 380 and wipe clean. Primer-Putty-Primer is must to get desired effect of the top coat. A coat of ABC water thinnable acrylic primer is recommended as an undercoat on the top of putty for eliminating the patchy appearance in final coats.
Apply at approximately 60 – 75 sq. ft. per kg. on smooth, nonporous surfaces. Coverage figures do not include loss due to surface irregularities and porosity or material loss due to application method or mixing . It depends on many factors like surface conditions, surface preparation, application skill, weather conditions, dilution, etc. The coverage mentioned is under ideal conditions and will vary depending on site conditions for best hiding, tint primers toward finish coat color. Some colors, drastic color changes, or porous surfaces may require additional coats to achieve a uniform finish.
